Our Story

In 1999 childhood friends, Keith Neilson and Gordon Craig, decided to form a software company. From their quaint living-room in Edinburgh, to the back of the Malt & Hops pub, they worked to produce the first automated charge master solution in the marketplace. Inspired by the famous crane kick scene from “The Karate Kid” during a late-night brainstorming session, Craneware was born. Today, Craneware, a leader in automated value cycle solutions for US health providers is 350+ employees strong.

Testimonials

I was originally hired to be a Pharmacy Implementation Manager, but quickly moved to a Project Manage role as the company needs changed. That is the great part about Craneware, if you have the skills and there is a need, you are given the opportunity. I have been given the opportunity to lead company-wide projects and support strategic goals that will make a difference for the customer and company. I love my job because I was given the chance to grow with new responsibilities and learn new skills, my manager and team care about each other and fully support each other. And since half the team is in Scotland, I have a few new phrases and have worn a kilt.

Robert Oats
Project Manager

Being a part of this organization has allowed me to experience many wonderful opportunities both professionally and personally. Their drive to promote internally and encourage a collaborative working environment, are just a couple of reasons I continue to enjoy my experience with the company. My colleagues are not just people I speak with from 9 to 5, Monday thru Friday. They are individuals I connect with outside of work and feel lucky to call my friends.

Modesty Evans
BI Lean Business Partner

I’ve been working for Craneware for almost 5 years now, and during this time I’ve had the opportunity to create my own career and pursue my goals. I’ve felt encouraged every step of the way, from the Software Support Representative – the role I’ve started with, to Product Manager – my current role. Through Craneware I’ve had the chance to obtain certifications as well as exposure to the business areas I wanted to ultimately be a part of (Product Delivery). On a personal note, I consider some of the friends I’ve made in Craneware amongst my closest friends, especially here in the UK, having moved in from a different country. I really enjoy working for this company, and I’ve recommended anyone looking to start or further their career to consider this place as a prime candidate!
